Ashleigh is a graduate from Jane Addams College of Social work and has a diverse background in working with people in Mental Health. Ashleigh has worked in the field as a mental health practitioner and crisis counselor. Ashleigh specializes in working with adolescents and adults whom struggle with anxiety, depression and trauma history and also Utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Therapy. Works to help individuals manage and/or alleviate the stressors that life may bring. Assists individuals with being the CEO of theirs lives so that they may increase their quality of life.
As a therapist, I can assist you to better understand the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. With this new insight, you can identify problematic ones and challenge, replace, or reframe them. The path to change starts with identifying your underlying needs and finding more effective ways to fulfill them.
I work with adolescents, teens and adults from diverse backgrounds. I am specialized in treating anxiety, depression, life transitions, low self-esteem and grief. I believe that being compassionate and empathetic to my client’s unique experiences are the foundational building blocks of building a strong therapeutic relationship. I value the diversity of my clients and aim to provide culturally competent services. I believe that every client has their unique experiences, therefore deserves a tailored treatment approach.
I have experience in working with crisis, substance use disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, issues of emerging adulthood, life transitions, co-dependency, school, work and relationship issues, and trauma.
I utilize an integrative approach that combines different therapeutic approaches to best fit each client’s needs and goals. My approach is influenced but not limited to CBT, DBT, Mindfulness and Strength Based therapy. I also enjoy integrating a creative arts therapy approach and games because it allows my clients to express their own unique thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
